We're all here

Fascinated with mysteries and romance, I started my career with an idea of a
mystery set in Midwest horse country. (Did I tell you i love horses?) I
decided writing a mystery would be a "cinch." That was what I read, after all,
right?  Agatha Christie watch out.  (Hah!) Did I understand premise, theme,
plot, point of view, transitions, hooks at end of chapters, goal motivation
and conflict?  I did not. But, undaunted, I wrote my first novel. It went on for
twenty nine chapters (I think). Then--the unthinkable.

We all upgrade our computers from time to time. I started with  a 250 word
processor (?) to an ASTI, where I could actually get the INTERNET. Little did I
know I had to save it onto a FLOPPY A, the  big square thing you had to
insert into your computer. Duh!  So much for novel number one. Yep. Gone.

Undaunted, I moved on to the next project.  Short stories of various genres
and several articles published in the Cassette, a national magazine for collie
fanciers. (Did I tell you I love collies?) Then back to novels.
I've completed five novels and parts of scores of others. After years of
lectures, reading craft books, practicing writing, critiquing and being
critiqued and finally giving online workshops, FINALLY.  In the Arms of the
Enemy was picked up by LSP Digital LLC a wonderful new
company that took a chance. That was in 2007. I haven't looked back.

YESTERDAY, LSP released Waterlilies Over My Grave, out into the cold,
cruel world. I feel like a mommy whose kid moved away from home seeking
his fortune. Honest, I do.

Did I tell you I love music?

Backed by a Masters Degree in Music, my former-former profession
consisted of singing in opera houses in the US and Europe. Not satisfied
with the insecure life of an opera singer, I decided to go into teaching music
in Chicago. I taught in a school for emotionally disturbed children as a music
therapist, before transferring to the public school system.  Recently, retired
from teaching into writing, I left performing (and teaching)  to create my own
stories.

I've had a lifetime love for horses and dogs who (for some reason) keep
popping up either as the subject of novels or as minor characters.
Patricia Guthrie lives in the South
Suburbs of Chicago and writes
romantic suspense novels, rides her
horses and spoils her dogs.

I've been writing for about ten years give or
take a few when I was besieged with
teaching responsibilities and brain cramps.
